Novozavodskyi

Getting around

Novozavodskyi is not a separate town but the western half of Chernihiv, with Peace Avenue (Prospekt Myru) forming the boundary between the two districts. Keep that avenue as your reference point: getting around Novozavodskyi means getting around western Chernihiv, and crossing to the historic core means heading to the opposite side of Peace Avenue. Walking works well for exploring the district's own streets and for crossing into the neighbouring half of the city.

Local public transport is built around city buses and trolleybuses, and the network reaches all districts and microdistricts, including Novozavodskyi. Use buses and trolleybuses to move between the district's neighbourhoods and to connect with the centre. For arriving and leaving, the city's gateways are the railway station, the bus station and two additional bus terminals; from any of these, the bus and trolleybus network is how you reach Novozavodskyi. If you arrive by air, confirm your arrival point in advance and plan onward travel by rail or coach into Chernihiv, then continue by local bus or trolleybus. The source gives no guidance on taxis or ride-hailing, so arrange door-to-door transport through your accommodation or at the station rather than assuming local app coverage.

Three days in Novozavodskyi

Day one: Start on Peace Avenue (Prospekt Myru), the main axis of Novozavodskyi, and use it to get your bearings. Walk the avenue at an easy pace, noting the local shops and cafés along the way, and keep the Keep in mind as your landmark for later in the day. If you arrive from Chernihiv, the avenue is a straightforward first orientation.

Day two: Give the day to walking, using the avenue as your spine and turning off into the surrounding streets. Local life is best seen on foot, so keep your pace slow and your route loose. For a break, return to Peace Avenue and settle into one of its cafés.

Day three: Use your last day to revisit what you liked most, whether that is the Keep or a stretch of Prospekt Myru. If time allows, walk a section of the avenue you have not yet covered. Keep the day unhurried and local.
