Goelbasi

Introduction

Gölbaşı is a district of Ankara Province, sitting about 20 km south of the city of Ankara at an elevation of roughly 970 m. It is a municipality in its own right, and its territory takes in the Mogan and Eymir lakes, which give the area its open, waterside character within the wider provincial landscape.

Three days in Goelbasi

Day one: Base yourself in Gölbaşı, a district within Ankara Province, and use it as your starting point for the area around Ankara. Settle in, get your bearings, and take an easy first look at the town before planning the days ahead.

Day two: Head out to Mogan. The lake and its surroundings are the draw here, so give yourself time to walk the shoreline and take in the scenery at an unhurried pace.

Day three: Turn to Eymir for your final day. Like Mogan, it offers a lake setting within reach of Ankara, and it makes a fitting close to a short stay based in Gölbaşı.
