Yishun New Town

Introduction

Yishun, also known as Nee Soon, is a residential town and planning area in the eastern corner of Singapore's North Region. It sits between Sembawang to the north and Mandai to the west, with the Central Water Catchment to its southwest, Ang Mo Kio to the south, and Seletar and Sengkang to the east and southeast.

Three days in Yishun New Town

Day one: Start by getting your bearings in Yishun itself, a new town in Singapore's North Region also known by the name Nee Soon. Wander the town centre and its neighbourhoods to see how daily life is organised around the MRT and bus interchange, then use the town as your base for the rest of your stay.

Day two: Head north from Yishun to Sembawang, a neighbouring town in the same part of the North Region, and spend the day exploring its waterfront and residential streets. If you prefer green space, go the other way instead towards Mandai or the Central Water Catchment, both within easy reach of Yishun.

Day three: Branch out east and south to see how Yishun sits among its neighbours. Ang Mo Kio, Seletar and Sengkang are all nearby, each with its own character, and make a straightforward final day of moving between towns before returning to Yishun.
