Phool Nagar
Introduction
Phool Nagar, formerly known as Bhai Pheru, is a city in the Kasur District of Punjab province, Pakistan. The city now carries the name of Rana Phool Muhammad Khan, a former minister from the area.
Getting around
Phool Nagar is a road town on the N-5 National Highway, so plan every journey around vehicles rather than trains, metros or trams — none of these are options here. Buses, taxis and private cars cover both intercity and local trips, and long-distance buses and taxis passing between Lahore and points further afield are the mainstay of travel. If you are heading to the Changa Manga planted forest, treat it as a road trip from the city.
Buses are the cheapest way to reach Phool Nagar, but direct services may not exist from every origin, so confirm connections in advance and allow extra time for transfers. From Faisalabad, for example, there is no direct bus: the route runs Faisalabad to Lahore first, then onward to Phool Nagar, with Faisal Movers operating the Faisalabad–Lahore leg and offering different classes of service. Taxis are faster than the bus for a direct journey but cost more, and driving yourself is the fastest option if you have a car. If you fly in, arrive via Lahore and continue by road along the N-5. Within town, treat walking as a way to cover short local distances rather than a primary way to get around.
Three days in Phool Nagar
Day one: Start in Phool Nagar itself, a town in Kasur District, Punjab, Pakistan, whose name comes from Rana Phool Muhammad Khan. Get your bearings on foot and use the National Highway as your reference point for the layout. Buses and taxis connect the town with Lahore, so you can arrange the rest of your stay around those links.
Day two: Head out to Changa Manga, the nearby forest area, and spend the day among the trees. From Faisalabad you can also reach the region, and Faisal Movers is one of the services that runs there. Within the town, keep the evening simple and stay close to where you are based.
Day three: Use the day to look around Bhai Pheru and the surrounding parts of Kasur District before you leave. If your time is short, keep your movements within Phool Nagar and the nearby settlements rather than pushing on to Lahore. Buses and taxis remain the practical way to move on when you finish.
