Kot Radha Kishan
Introduction
Kot Radha Kishan is a city and tehsil headquarters in Kasur District, in Pakistan's Punjab province. It was formerly part of Kasur Tehsil and has since been upgraded to a tehsil of the district in response to the growth of the area. Administratively, the city is divided into four Union councils, and it sits at an altitude of 193 metres.
The city is also known as the "City of Containers and Leather", a nickname that points to the trades associated with it.
Getting around
Kot Radha Kishan is a compact tehsil town, and its transport, banks, post offices and markets cluster together in the centre around the railway station and bus stand. That core is easy to cover on foot, which makes it the simplest way to run errands once you arrive. For anything beyond the centre, or if you are carrying luggage, short-distance rickshaws and local taxis are the standard options — agree on the fare before you set off. There is no metro or tram; the town's public transport backbone is its railway station and bus stand.
Rail is the most straightforward link for visitors: trains run between Lahore Junction and Kot Radha Kishen several times a day, a journey of roughly an hour, with Economy, AC Sleeper and AC Business classes available. For longer journeys you generally change at Lahore Junction rather than finding a direct service. Intercity coaches follow the same pattern, with Lahore acting as the hub, so build a transfer into your schedule. Taxis and private cars give you door-to-door flexibility, particularly for the Lahore run and the industrial areas around Raiwind, but ride-hailing coverage is thinner here than in Lahore, so arrange your onward ride in advance or ask your hotel to help. If you are flying in, Lahore is the practical arrival point, and from there you can continue by road, by train via Lahore Junction, or by coach.
