Eminabad

Introduction

Eminabad, once known as Saidpur, is a small town in the southeast of Gujranwala in Punjab province, Pakistan, roughly a dozen kilometres from Gujranwala city itself. It is a place to visit as a quiet counterpoint to the city rather than as a destination in its own right.

Three days in Eminabad

Day one: Start in Eminabad, the town in Punjab, Pakistan, that most visitors know by its older name, Saidpur. Wander the streets of the old town and take in the character of the place before heading on to Gujranwala, the nearest city, for the rest of your day.

Day two: Give Eminabad a fuller day. Return to Saidpur and spend your time exploring the historic core at an unhurried pace, letting the town's past and present sit side by side.

Day three: Use Gujranwala as your base for the final day, then make your way back through Eminabad and Saidpur before you leave Punjab.
