Janzur
Introduction
Janzur, also written Janzour or Zanzur, sits on Libya's Mediterranean coastline in the country's north-west. It lies west of the capital, Tripoli, and east of Az-Zawiya, placing it along the coastal stretch that runs out from the capital toward the western part of the country. The people who live here are known as Janazrah.
Three days in Janzur
Day one: Settle into Janzur, also spelled Janzour or Zanzur, a coastal town on the Mediterranean in Libya. It sits close to Tripoli and Az Zawiya, so you can use it as a quiet base while you get your bearings. Spend your first hours along the waterfront, watching the Mediterranean and adjusting to the warm, easy pace of the town.
Day two: Give the day to the sea. The Mediterranean defines Janzur, and the shore is where the town feels most itself. Swim if the water is calm, walk the beach, and take your time. In the afternoon, look toward the horizon and the coast that links Janzur with Tripoli and Az Zawiya.
Day three: Use Janzur as your starting point for the wider area. The town's position between Tripoli and Az Zawiya makes short trips along the coast straightforward. Return to Janzur in the evening for a last walk by the Mediterranean before you move on.
