Food & drink

You can experience a unique blend of the spiritual and the gastronomical at The Rumor Burger. This "French Burger" restaurant is built directly into the walls of Masumida Shrine; because it shares the same address as the shrine, it is considered a unique "shrine restaurant" and a food "Power Spot." For a traditional taste, you can visit Otaya Bisai to enjoy miso-nikomi udon.

If you are looking for a drink, Rock On City offers a rock'n roll-themed atmosphere where you can enjoy cocktails along with burgers and pasta.

What to see and do

You can explore the ornate Masumida Shrine, which served as the principal shrine of Owari Province. Stroll through its pleasant grounds to see a pool filled with carp and turtles. The site serves as the heart of local festivities, including New Year celebrations, an annual craft fair, and the Tanabata festival.

From its observation platform, you can take in a panoramic view of the Kiso Valley and spot a nearby village constructed entirely on an island in the middle of the river. During the summer months, experience the Tanabata festival with decorated streets, live music, and bon-dancing, or watch the Bisai fireworks display over the banks of the Kiso River.
