Pakdasht
Introduction
Pakdasht is a city in the Central District of Pakdasht County, in Tehran province, Iran. It serves as the capital of both the county and the district, making it the administrative centre for the surrounding area.
The city took its present form in 1989, when the village of Pakdasht merged with the villages of Mamazan and Quheh. Those three settlements now make up the city you'll find on a map of Tehran province today.
Three days in Pakdasht
Day one: Base yourself in Pakdasht, the seat of Pakdasht County in Tehran province, and use it as your anchor for the days ahead. Spend your first hours getting a feel for the Central District, where the town's daily life plays out, before heading out to Mamazan. The pace here is unhurried, so give yourself time to settle in rather than rushing between stops.
Day two: Head for Quheh and let the surrounding landscape set the rhythm of the day. The weather shapes what you can do, so plan around it — warm, dry stretches make for easier wandering, while colder spells call for a slower approach. Keep your expectations modest and let the quiet of the area do the work.
Day three: Return to Pakdasht and the Central District for a last look before you move on. If you are continuing your journey, Tehran is the natural next step, with Iran's wider network of roads and rail links within reach. Those travelling onward from Pakdasht County will find the connections straightforward enough to plan a smooth departure.
