Baneh
Introduction
Baneh is a city in the Central District of Baneh County, in Iran's Kurdistan province, and serves as the capital of both the county and the district. It sits in the country's western Kurdish region, roughly 30 km from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Three days in Baneh
Day one: Start in Baneh itself, in the Central District of Baneh County, and get your bearings in a Kurdish town in Iran's Kurdistan. Use the day to settle into the rhythm of the bazaar and the streets, listening for Kurdish spoken around you.
Day two: Look beyond the town toward the wider Baneh County and the Kurdish countryside of Kurdistan. Keep the pace slow and let the landscape and the border country set the day's shape.
Day three: Turn your attention toward the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, which lie close by, and spend a final day in Baneh taking in the town's Kurdish character before you move on.
