Phusro
Introduction
Phusro is a nagar parishad in the Bermo subdivision of Bokaro district, in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It sits roughly 35 kilometres from the district headquarters, and the Damodar River passes through it.
Three days in Phusro
Day one: Start in Phusro, the town that gives the area its name, and get your bearings in its neighbourhoods before heading out towards Bermo. Bermo sits close by and shares the same industrial, riverside character, so it makes an easy first excursion. Keep the day loose and let the town set the pace.
Day two: Follow the Damodar River, which shapes this part of Jharkhand and the towns along its banks. The river is the thread that ties Phusro and Bermo together, so a day spent tracing it gives you a sense of how the settlements grew. If you want a longer run, Bokaro lies within reach and makes a natural second stop in the same belt.
Day three: Use your last day to slow down and take in the everyday life of the region rather than chasing sights. Indian and Jharkhandi food, conversation and the rhythm of the streets are the point here. It is a corner of Jharkhand best appreciated without a checklist.
