Gyanpur
Introduction
Gyanpur is a town and a nagar panchayat in Bhadohi district, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is the administrative centre of its district, so expect a working town rather than a resort: government offices, local markets and everyday civic life shape the place.
Three days in Gyanpur
Day one: Start in Gyanpur, the town at the centre of this part of Uttar Pradesh, and take your time over the streets and markets rather than rushing between sights. Gyanpur is a natural base for the days ahead, so use the first day to get your bearings and to eat simply — Indian cooking is what you will find, and the local kitchens are the place to begin.
Day two: Head out to Bhadohi, the town nearby that gives this belt its character. The journey between Gyanpur and Bhadohi is short, so you can spend the day in Bhadohi and still return to Gyanpur in the evening. Keep the pace slow and let the town show itself.
Day three: Stay closer to Gyanpur and fill the day with what you passed over earlier, whether that is a second look at the markets or a slower meal. If you have time before you leave Uttar Pradesh, use it to revisit whichever of Gyanpur or Bhadohi appealed to you most.
