Paris 12 Reuilly
Getting around
Reuilly sits in the 12th arrondissement on the eastern side of Paris, and its main advantage for getting around is that it is plugged into the same dense public transport web as the rest of the city. The nearest metro station is Montgallet on line 8, about a minute's walk from the heart of the area. Several other stations are within a short stroll: Reuilly – Diderot, Mairie du 12ème, Fabre d'Eglantine and Nation, each a handful of minutes away on foot. Nation is the largest and acts as a major interchange, useful for longer journeys. Metro lines 1, 2, 6, 8 and 9 run nearby, and the RER A also serves the area, giving you direct or easily connected access to much of central Paris. Services run from early morning until late, but timings vary by line and by day, so check the last departure for your specific line if you are out late.
Buses are a strong option here, and the nearest bus stop at Montgallet is the same spot as the metro station, so switching between the two is effortless. Lines 29, 46, 57, 71 and 215 connect places such as Place des Vosges, Porte Dorée, Laplace RER, Bibliothèque François Mitterrand and Vincennes RER, with lines 56 and 86 also stopping nearby. Night buses N11 and N33 serve the vicinity when the metro has stopped. Paris uses a common ticketing system across metro, RER, bus and tram, so a single ticket type or travel pass generally covers your whole journey regardless of mode; buy at station machines, ticket windows, or via the official apps and reloadable travel cards, and keep your ticket until you exit, as inspections are common. Taxis and ride-hailing are a convenient fallback late at night, with luggage, or when your destination is awkward by rail, and Nation is a reliable place to find a taxi rank. The neighbourhood itself is genuinely walkable: the key stops are all within a few minutes of one another, the terrain is flat, and walking is the best way to enjoy the local landmarks and everyday street life around Rue de Reuilly, Rue Montgallet and Rue du Sergent Bauchat.
