Disuq
Introduction
Desouk is a city in northern Egypt, in the Kafr El Sheikh Governorate, bordered to the west by the Beheira Governorate. It lies roughly 80 km east of Alexandria, which makes it a natural stop if you are travelling that stretch of the northern part of the country.
What it does establish is a straightforward location: a governorate-level city in the north, close to Beheira on its western edge and within reach of Alexandria to the west.
Three days in Disuq
Day one: Begin in Desouk itself, a city in Kafr El Sheikh Governorate, and take your time getting oriented on foot before deciding how far afield you want to range over the following days. Use the first day to settle into the rhythm of the place rather than rushing between sights.
Day two: Head south into Beheira Governorate, using the governorate's towns as your frame for the day. Keep your plans flexible, since the appeal here lies in moving between places rather than in any single stop.
Day three: Travel onward to Alexandria, the coastal city that makes a natural final leg of the trip. It offers a change of scale and setting after the governorate towns, and gives you a comfortable base before you return.
