Hejiang

Getting around

Hejiang is compact, so walking covers most everyday needs once you are in the right part of town — schools, the public health hospital and health center, shops, pharmacies and community streets are all within the same small local area. For anything beyond a comfortable walk, local buses are the main public option, with taxis and ride-hailing filling the gaps for direct, door-to-door trips. There is no rail, metro or tram service described within Hejiang, so plan on road-based transport rather than a local train or tram line.

Use Hejiang Bus Station as your anchor for catching services and giving directions. Several stops serve the town, so check which is closest to your destination before boarding: Teacher Street is the closest stop to central Hejiang, roughly a four-minute walk away, followed by Hejiang Road Intersection at about eleven minutes and Hejiang Gas Station at about fourteen. If you are arriving from elsewhere in Chengdu, expect to connect through Huayang Bus Terminal, Dalin Bus Station or Taiping Bus Station. Ticketing arrangements and fares are not specified, so confirm the current practice locally when you arrive. For luggage, late nights or places the buses do not conveniently reach, take a taxi or ride-hailing app and confirm your pickup point clearly using a well-known landmark such as Hejiang Bus Station.

Three days in Hejiang

Day one: Start in Hejiang Town and get your bearings along Teacher Street, where the town's everyday life is easiest to read at a glance. Use Hejiang Bus Station as your orientation point for the days ahead, and note the Hejiang Road Intersection nearby for onward connections. Keep the first day unhurried — the town rewards wandering rather than rushing between stops.

Day two: Take the Hetai Line to reach the surrounding townships, planning your return before you set out, since services are limited. Huayang Bus Terminal and Taiping Bus Station are the useful nodes on this route; Dalin Bus Station serves the other direction. If you are continuing on to Chengdu afterwards, sort out ticketing in advance rather than leaving it to the last minute.

Day three: Stay closer to Hejiang and use the East Branch Road corridor to move between the bus stations and the town centre. Several local services connect through Hejiang Bus Station, so build your final day around its departures. Allow spare time for the run back to the station before you leave.
