Longgang
Getting around
Shuanglong Metro Station, on Line 3, is your anchor for the Longgang Town centre and the meeting point for metro and bus services. From the station you can walk into the central area, but allow for a substantial walk — it is roughly twenty-five minutes on foot to some central addresses. Metro trains run from early morning until late at night, so if you are out in the evening, check the last-train time for your return rather than assuming service continues.
Buses cover what the metro does not. Stops serving the town centre and the Longgang Avenue corridor include Longdong Community, Manjinghua Terminal, Longgang Long-Distance Bus Station, Longgang Post Office, and several at Shuanglong Metro Station itself; walking times from these stops to the centre range from about ten to nearly thirty minutes, so pick the one nearest your destination. Local routes such as 810, 818 and M275 use Longgang Bus Terminal as a major terminus, while routes including 351, 365, 366, 651, 811, 812, 862, 380A, B669, M230, M266, M304, M308, M386 and M497 link the area to Kengzi, Pingdi, Dapeng, Meilin Checkpoint and various terminals. For longer trips, route E21 runs to Shenzhen Airport's new terminal, E7 connects to Shenzhen North Railway Station, and 366 serves Huanggang Port on the Hong Kong border. Buses start early and some run late, but fares and live timings are not listed here — use a transit app such as Moovit to check prices and schedules. Walking works for short trips within the centre, but for anything beyond it, plan on the metro or a bus and allow extra time for connections.
Three days in Longgang
Day one: Arrive at Shuanglong Metro Station, your gateway into Longgang Town. From here, use the Metro to reach Longgang Avenue, the spine of the district, and orient yourself around Longdong Community. Buses stop along the avenue and connect you to local terminals, so pick up a route toward Longgang Long Distance Bus Station or Longgang Post Office to get your bearings. If you need to plan onward travel, Moovit helps you map the local network.
Day two: Head out by bus to the outlying communities of Kengzi and Pingdi, where the pace slows and the streets feel more residential. Return via Manjinghua Terminal or Longgang Bus Terminal, both useful hubs for looping back into town. Spend the late afternoon walking Longgang Avenue and the surrounding blocks, letting the district's everyday rhythm set your schedule.
Day three: Use the Metro and local buses for a longer run toward Dapeng, or connect onward via Meilin Checkpoint for Shenzhen Airport, Shenzhen North Railway Station, or Huanggang Port into Hong Kong. If your time is short, stay closer and revisit Longdong Community on foot. Walking remains the best way to fill the gaps between stops before you leave Longgang.
