Zhicheng
Introduction
Zhicheng is a town in Yidu, a county-level city within the Yichang prefecture of Hubei province, China. It sits on the right, or southern, shore of the Yangtze River, roughly 15 kilometres southeast of downtown Yidu.
Three days in Zhicheng
Day one: Base yourself in Zhicheng, a town in Hubei, China, on the banks of the Yangtze River. Spend your first hours getting oriented along the riverfront, where the town's character is tied to the water that runs through it. Use the day to settle in and adjust to the local pace rather than rushing onward.
Day two: Head downstream to Yidu, a nearby city on the Yangtze. The river remains the thread connecting the places here, so let it shape your day - walk the waterfront, watch the traffic on the water, and take in how these Hubei towns live alongside one of China's great rivers.
Day three: Continue to Yichang, the largest of the three stops and the gateway to the Yangtze's dramatic stretches. Spend your final day exploring the city before deciding whether to push further along the river or loop back toward Zhicheng.
