Linshui

Introduction

Linshui County lies in the east of Sichuan province, under the administration of Guang'an, and is the easternmost county-level division of that prefecture-level city. Its eastern edge borders Chongqing municipality directly, so the county sits at the seam between Sichuan and Chongqing.

Three days in Linshui

Day one: Begin in Linshui County, the heart of the area, and take your time getting oriented on foot. The county sits within Sichuan, so expect the warm, humid conditions typical of the region and plan your walking accordingly. Use the first day to settle in and absorb the everyday rhythm of the streets rather than rushing between sights.

Day two: Set aside the day for the wider surroundings of Linshui County, moving at an unhurried pace and letting the landscape and local life shape your route. Keep the schedule loose, since the climate can be warm and sticky, and build in rests. This is a day for observation rather than ticking off a list.

Day three: Look outward toward the broader region, with Chongqing as the natural reference point for understanding how this part of Sichuan connects to its neighbours. Round off your stay with a final slow morning in the county before you move on.
