San-Pedro

Introduction

San-Pédro sits in southwestern Ivory Coast and serves as the nation's second largest port, as well as the seat of Bas-Sassandra District and San-Pédro Region. It is also a commune and the seat of San-Pédro Department, and San Pédro Airport connects the city to the wider region.

Three days in San-Pedro

Day one: Start in San-Pédro, the port city of the Bas-Sassandra District and the seat of the Pédro Region and Pédro Department. Get your bearings in the urban centre before heading out along the coast, and use the day to settle into the rhythm of the city and its waterfront.

Day two: Travel east to Sassandra District, where the coastline and river mouth give the day a slower pace. The journey between San-Pédro and Sassandra District is part of the experience, so allow time to take in the changing landscape along the way.

Day three: Return to San-Pédro and spend your final hours revisiting the parts of the city you enjoyed most. If you are flying out, San Pédro Airport is your departure point, so plan your last day around your flight and leave room for the drive to the airport.
