Vila Prudente
Getting around
Vila Prudente is a district on the eastern side of São Paulo, and the metro station of the same name is the practical gateway to the area — most of your movements in and out will revolve around it. The station is the interchange between Linha 2 (Green) and Linha 15 (Silver), the latter a monorail; riding Linha 15 doubles as a small piece of sightseeing. Two other stops on Linha 2 fall within walking range of parts of the district: Sacomã, the closer of the two on foot, and Oratório, a longer walk. For commuter rail, Linha 10 (Turquoise) serves the area via Tamanduateí, but that station is a longer walk from the heart of the district than the metro stops, so treat it as a connection you reach by bus, taxi or a deliberate walk. Metro and CPTM services run from early morning until shortly after midnight rather than round-the-clock, so check the last train before committing to a late-night return by rail.
Local buses radiate from Terminal Vila Prudente, the SPTrans-operated municipal terminal on Avenida Professor Luís Ignácio de Anhaia Melo. It runs 24 hours a day, has a staffed information desk, and spreads across multiple platforms in central and southern sections, so check which one your line departs from. The terminal is set up to integrate with both the Metrô and CPTM networks, and on-street stops also line Rua Itamumbuca, Avenida Professor Luiz Ignácio Anhaia Mello and Rua Ibitirama. A dedicated night bus network covers the hours when the rails stop, and the earliest regular buses start before dawn. Pay for buses and trains with a Bilhete Único or Bilhete QR Digital card, which lets you take advantage of integration between modes; plan connections with the SPTrans trip planner or a transit app. Taxis and ride-hailing fill the gaps, with a taxi point at the metro station. On foot, the area around the station and terminal is the most pedestrian-friendly zone, with the terminal, metro, taxi point and local landmarks clustered together — anchor your walks there and use buses or ride-hailing for the longer gaps.
Three days in Vila Prudente
Day one: Arrive in Vila Prudente and get your bearings at Terminal Vila Prudente, the local transport hub where the metro and CPTM lines meet. Pick up a Bilhete Único or Bilhete QR Digital so you can move around by metro and bus without fuss, and note that taxis are on hand if you prefer door-to-door. Spend the afternoon walking the neighbourhood's main axes, Avenida Professor Luís Ignácio and Anhaia Melo, where everyday commerce and local life set the tone for your stay.

Back in the neighbourhood, wander Rua Itamumbuca and Rua Ibitirama for a quieter sense of the local streets, then return via the terminal in the evening.
