Umhlanga: Music, Dining and the Trace Africa Crossover
North of the city, Umhlanga runs its own parallel celebration. Tiger's Milk at Oceans Mall hosts a New Year's Eve crossover event with Trace Africa from 7pm, with live performances by Zee Nxumalo, Oscar Mbo, Big Zulu and Dalootz alongside Durban DJs. Durban does not pack the festive season away on the first morning of the year. The Durban Festive Season Carnival follows on 2 January, giving you a reason to stay in the city an extra day and a second major gathering to plan around.
