Christmas Eve on Orchard Road: The Great Christmas Eve Street Party
At 8pm on Thursday 24 December 2026, part of Orchard Road closes to traffic and fills with people. The Christmas on A Great Street season, running under the theme "Season of Golden Joy," stages The Great Christmas Eve Street Party from 8pm to 12.15am. The road is shut from 6pm to 2am between Paterson Junction (ION Orchard) and Bideford Junction (Ngee Ann City). Live performances are headlined by Benjamin Kheng and Maia Lee, with DJ sets, festive mascots and food trucks along the route. Benjamin Kheng leads the midnight countdown to Christmas. If you want to be in the middle of it, arrive before the 6pm closure and claim a spot near the stage.
Dance, Graffiti and Circus at *SCAPE
One stretch of the party belongs to *SCAPE, which runs "Sleigh the Street!" as part of the night: street dance, graffiti art, circus performances and hands-on creative activities. It is the section to head for if you would rather participate than watch. The programme runs within the same 8pm–12.15am window as the main party.
A Midnight Projection on the Hilton Singapore Orchard Façade
The outdoor multimedia 3D projection show on the Hilton Singapore Orchard façade runs from 1 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, normally 7pm–10pm daily. On Christmas Eve it is extended to 7pm–12.30am, with a special midnight countdown featuring exclusive content. Plan your evening so you are facing the façade shortly before midnight; the street party and the projection both build to the same moment.
Photo Spots, Light Installations and Music Along the Street
The light-up began on 17 November 2026 and most programming runs to 3 January 2027, so by Christmas Eve the whole street is dressed. The "Snap & Shine" photo spots are placed at fixed points along Orchard Road:
- Steps of Golden Joy — in front of Shaw House Urban Plaza
- Gateway to Golden Joy — an illuminated arch in front of ION Orchard
- A Golden Christmas Moment — in front of ION Orchard
- Meet Me Under the Mistletoe — a mistletoe installation with Merli in front of Ngee Ann City
- The Golden Christmas Tree — in front of Mandarin Gallery
Above Shaw House, a giant inflatable of Merli, the Singapore Tourism Board mascot, stands roughly 6.2 m tall and wears a Santa hat for the season; it is illuminated nightly from 6.30pm to 6.30am. "Music In The Air" plays festive music along Orchard Road daily from 10am to 6.59pm, with zones on the ION Orchard–Ngee Ann City walkway, the Mandarin Gallery walkway, the Paragon walkway and the Shaw House walkway.
Pop-Ups to Catch Before Christmas Eve
Several pop-ups close before the 24th, so slot them into the days leading up. The LEGO Christmas Pop-up runs 13 November–22 December 2026, the Google Pixel Pro Pop-up 20 November–6 December 2026, and the Geneco "Forevermore" Pop-up 7–20 December 2026. Celebrate Christmas in Singapore runs 16–22 December 2026. The Avengers: Doomsday display pieces with stamp standees stay up from 12 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, so Christmas Eve is a good time to collect the stamps.
Plan Around the Closures
The road closure from 6pm to 2am between Paterson Junction and Bideford Junction shapes the whole evening: come by MRT rather than car, and treat the closed stretch as a walking route between the photo spots, the *SCAPE programme and the Hilton façade. The season's light-up ceremony was held on Tuesday 17 November 2026 at 7pm at Shaw House Urban Plaza, organised with Community Chest and the Orchard Road Business Association, so the installations you see on Christmas Eve have been in place for weeks.
