February Nights on the Rambla del Tricentenario
It is the end of February and you are walking the new Rambla del Tricentenario, the renewed central waterfront that runs between Parque de España and Parque Nacional a la Bandera, inaugurated on 27 February — the anniversary of the creation of the flag. The river air is warm, the walkways are full, and the city is still riding the momentum of its 2025 tricentenary, a year that saw more than 250,000 people gather at the Monumento Nacional a la Bandera for a concert by Nicki Nicole with the Sinfónica Provincial. In 2026 the summer calendar keeps that scale. Bring comfortable shoes and plan to be outside after dark: this is when Rosario is at its most social.
Summer Festivals and Free Concerts
January and February carry the heaviest programme. The Festival FARO runs 30 January to 1 February, with a lineup including Baglietto/Vitale, Silvestre y la Naranja, Nuestro Romance, Groovin' Bohemia, Freddy y Los Solares, Elías Rampello and Killer Burritos. The Carnavales Centrales take over Parque de la Independencia. The Festival De la Patria Mía closes out February with folklore. Alongside these, the "Noches del Lunario" concert series brings La Delio Valdez, Agarrate Catalina, Cuarteto de Nos, Sin Bandera, Florian, Emmanuel Horvilleur, Living Colour, El Mató a un Policía Motorizado, Marilina Bertoldi, Indios, Catupecu Machu, Massacre, El Zar, Gauchito Club, Koino Yokan and Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. Other concerts across the season include Dalila, Uriel Lozano, Mayumana, Bersuit Vergarabat, Rata Blanca, Vilma Palma and Divididos, plus the Cumbión del Paraná in late February.

Fito Páez in March, and a Calendar That Runs All Year
March belongs to Rosario's own Fito Páez, who plays three concerts: a symphonic show and new album presentation at Teatro El Círculo, an intimate piano show at Teatro Astengo, and a free concert at the Monumento a la Bandera on 14 March. The rest of the year is just as programmed. In March, the Nicola Constantino exhibition opens at Museo Estévez. April brings Gyula Kosice at Museo Castagnino and a Tini concert on 18 April at Newell's Old Boys stadium. May has Maitena at the Centro de Expresiones Contemporáneas and the Encuentro Metropolitano de Tango. June brings the Promesas de Lealtad a la Bandera and Día de la Bandera celebrations. August is Crack Bang Boom, the comics convention; September the Feria Internacional del Libro; October the Festival Internacional de Poesía; November the 42° Encuentro y Fiesta Nacional de las Colectividades and the Festival Fontanarrosa. Theatre runs throughout, with local and national productions.
Sport on the Waterfront and in the Stadiums
If you time your visit to the first half of the year, you can build a trip around sport. The Quini 6 Rosario Challenger tennis tournament runs 1–8 February. The Panamericano de Handball Playa takes place 14–17 February at the Playa Olímpica del Balneario La Florida, with Argentina's "Kamikazes" on the sand. Super Rugby Américas opens its first round on 21 February, with Capibaras XV debuting against Peñarol, and further dates follow. The Maratón Nocturna Sonder is the city's traditional night marathon, and the 42k Maratón Internacional de la Bandera and the Campeonato Nacional de Mayores de Atletismo round out the running calendar. The XIII Juegos Suramericanos Santa Fe 2026, with more than 4,000 athletes, is described as the most important sporting event in the city's history.
Walking the City with a Guide
Free guided walking tours run every Saturday across various city zones, and electric scooter tours are available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. On 21 February, Día del Guía de Turismo, six simultaneous free tours take place across the city. Use one of these early in your stay to orient yourself, then return on foot to the places that pull you back — the waterfront, the parks, the civic squares.
When to Go and How to Plan
Late January through February gives you the densest concentration of events: the Festival FARO, the carnivals, the Cumbión del Paraná, the tennis, the beach handball and the rugby. March adds Fito Páez and the Constantino exhibition. If you prefer a quieter city with a strong single draw, aim for the shoulder months around the book fair, the poetry festival or the November Colectividades gathering. Check the municipal and Ente Turístico Rosario listings before you book, since the calendar is published by the city and updated through the year. Start with your dates, pick two or three anchors, and let the rest of Rosario fill in around them.
