Howick

South Africa

Howick is a town in the UMngeni Local Municipality of KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa, situated approximately 88 kilometres inland from the port city of Durban. The town is located at an elevation of 1,050 meters above sea level and sits on the N3 freeway, which connects it to major routes across South Africa.

The town experiences warm summers and cool, dry winters, with occasional snow falling on the nearby Drakensberg mountains bringing notably cold conditions to the area. This highland setting and proximity to the Drakensberg give Howick a climate distinct from the coastal regions of KwaZulu-Natal.
