Hajjah is the capital city of the Hajjah Governorate located in the north-western region of Yemen. It sits at an elevation of approximately 1,800 metres above sea level.
The city is situated 127 kilometres northwest of the national capital, Sanaa. As of 2003, the Hajjah City District recorded a population of 53,887 inhabitants.
