Matnah is a small village in Bani Matar District of Sanaa Governorate, Yemen. It lies to the southeast of Jabal An-Nabi Shu'ayb, the mountain that is the highest point in Yemen and on the Arabian Peninsula.
The village serves as a stopping place on the road between Sanaa, the national capital, and Al-Hudaydah, the country's principal port city on the Red Sea. Its position along this route gives it a modest role as a rest stop for travellers crossing the mountainous terrain of the governorate.
Matnah is one of several settlements in Bani Matar District, an area of Sanaa Governorate known for its highland setting and its proximity to Jabal An-Nabi Shu'ayb.
