Lagunillas is the capital city of the Sucre Municipality, located in the state of Mérida in western Venezuela. It is situated approximately 30 kilometres (19 mi) from the city of Mérida.
The town features an old town area that is noted for its interest to tourists. Additionally, Lagunillas is recognized for the significant volume of artifacts produced using local materials.
