Des Moines is a city located in King County, Washington, in the United States. It is situated on the east shore of Puget Sound and lies near the center of the Seattle metropolitan area.
The city is bordered by several neighboring suburbs, including Federal Way to the south, Kent to the east, SeaTac to the northeast, Burien to the north, and Normandy Park to the northwest. As of the 2020 census, the population of Des Moines was 32,888.
