Colchester

Colchester is a town in Chittenden County, Vermont, and the third-most populous municipality in the state. According to the 2020 census, it had a population of 17,524. The town is situated directly north of Burlington on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain, to the west of the Green Mountains, and is part of Burlington's metropolitan area.

Colchester is home to several significant institutions. The Vermont National Guard maintains its base in the town, and it hosts both Saint Michael's College and the Vermont campus of Southern New Hampshire University. As the most populous town in Vermont, Colchester serves as a key component of the Burlington region's urban and institutional landscape.
