Wharton is a city situated in the state of Texas, United States. It serves as the county seat for Wharton County and is located along the Colorado River.
The city is positioned approximately 60 miles southwest of Houston. U.S. Highway 59 passes to the west of the city limits. According to census data, the population was recorded at 8,832 in 2010 and 8,627 in 2020.
