Socorro is a city located in El Paso County, Texas, within the United States. It is situated on the north bank of the Rio Grande, positioned southeast of the city of El Paso and along the international border with Mexico.
The city is bordered by several other municipalities and unincorporated areas. El Paso adjoins Socorro to the west, while the smaller city of San Elizario lies to the southeast. To the north and east, Socorro is separated from the nearby municipalities of Horizon City and Clint, respectively, by small unincorporated areas within El Paso County.
