Lancaster is a city located in Dallas County, Texas, within the United States. Situated in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, the community is positioned approximately 15 miles south of downtown Dallas.
Established in 1852 as a frontier post, Lancaster is recognized as one of the earliest settlements in Dallas County. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 41,275 and currently functions as a suburban community.
