Greenville is a city located in Northeast Texas within the United States. It serves as the county seat and is the most populous municipality in Hunt County. The city is situated approximately 50 miles (80 km) northeast of Dallas and 30 miles (48 km) west of Sulphur Springs.
Often referred to as the "Gateway to East Texas," Greenville had a recorded population of 28,164 as of the 2020 census. The city is defined by its geographic position in the northeastern region of the state.
