Hampton is a town located in Hampton County within the state of South Carolina in the United States. As of the 2020 census, the town had a recorded population of 2,694 residents.
The municipality serves as the county seat for Hampton County. Both the town and the county derive their name from Wade Hampton III, who served as a Confederate general during the American Civil War.
