Newark is a city located in Licking County, Ohio, in the United States. It serves as the county seat and is situated approximately 40 miles east of Columbus at the junction of the forks of the Licking River. The city is part of the Columbus metropolitan area.
As of the 2020 census, Newark had a population of 49,934, making it the 18th-largest city in the state of Ohio. The city is notably recognized for housing the world's largest basket and serving as the former headquarters of the now defunct Longaberger Company.
