Lancaster is a city located in Fairfield County in the south-central region of Ohio, United States. Serving as the county seat, the city is situated near the Hocking River and is positioned approximately 33 miles southeast of Columbus and 38 miles southwest of Zanesville. It is officially part of the Columbus metropolitan area.
As of the 2020 United States census, Lancaster had a population of 40,552. This population size ranks it as the 30th largest city in Ohio, a position it attained by growing while neighboring cities such as Warren and Findlay experienced declines.
