Wakefield is a neighborhood in the northern Bronx, one of New York City's five boroughs. It is located in the northernmost section of the Bronx and is bounded by the Westchester County border to the north, East 222nd Street to the south, and the Bronx River Parkway to the west.
The neighborhood is characterized as a working-class and middle-class residential area. Its proximity to Westchester County and position at the northern edge of the city gives it a distinct character within the Bronx.
