Oswego is a city located in the state of New York, United States. It serves as the county seat for Oswego County and is situated at the mouth of the Oswego River on the southeastern shore of Lake Ontario in the Upstate region.
The city is positioned approximately 40 miles northwest of Syracuse and 74 miles east-northeast of Rochester by road. As of the 2020 census, the population was recorded at 16,921. The city is known as "The Port City of Central New York."
