Salem is a town located in Rockingham County, New Hampshire, in the United States. As of the 2020 census, the town had a population of 30,089. It serves as a suburb of both Boston and Manchester and is situated along Interstate 93.
Positioned as the first town along I-93 northbound in New Hampshire, Salem has developed into a regional commercial hub for the northern section of Greater Boston. Key commercial anchors include Tuscan Village and the Mall at Rockingham Park. The area also features notable landmarks such as Canobie Lake Park, a large amusement park, and America's Stonehenge, a stone structure of disputed origins.
The town is historically significant as the former home of the Rockingham Park horse racetrack.
