Austin is a city located in the state of Minnesota within the United States. It serves as the county seat of Mower County and is situated along the Cedar River. The city was named in honor of Austin R. Nichols, who was the first European settler in the area.

As of the 2020 census, the population of Austin was 26,174. The city features two artificial lakes known as East Side Lake and Mill Pond. Geographically and economically, it is part of the Rochester–Austin combined statistical area.
