Bay City is a city located in Bay County, Michigan, in the United States. It serves as the county seat and functions as the principal city of the Bay City metropolitan area. This metropolitan area is coterminous with Bay County and forms part of the larger Greater Tri-Cities region situated in Central Michigan.

The city is positioned just upriver from the Saginaw Bay along the Saginaw River. The local geography is notable for several historic bridges that cross the river, including the Liberty Bridge, Veterans Memorial Bridge, Independence Bridge, and Lafayette Avenue Bridge. According to the 2020 census, the population of the city was 32,661.
