Damascus is a census-designated place and unincorporated area located in Montgomery County, Maryland. It is situated in upper Montgomery County at the intersection of three major roads: Ridge Road, Damascus Road, and Woodfield Road. According to the 2020 census, Damascus had a population of 17,224.
In the early 20th century, Damascus existed as an incorporated municipality, though this incorporated status lasted only about a quarter century before it became an unincorporated area.
