Norwich is a city located in New London County in southeastern Connecticut, United States. It is situated at the confluence of three rivers—the Yantic, Shetucket, and Quinebaug—which converge to form the city's harbor. From this harbor, the Thames River flows southward to Long Island Sound. The city is part of the Southeastern Connecticut Planning Region.
According to the 2020 United States Census, Norwich had a population of 40,125. The broader Norwich–New London metropolitan area encompasses 21 towns and had a population of 274,055 at the time of the census.
