Arima, officially known as The Royal Chartered Borough of Arima, is located in Trinidad and Tobago. It serves as the easternmost and second-largest borough by area among the three boroughs in the country. Geographically, it sits at the south central foothills of the Northern Range, bordered by Sangre Grande and Arouca.
The borough has been coterminous with the Town of Arima since 1888. It is the fourth-largest municipality in the nation by population, which was estimated at 33,606 residents in 2011. The area is situated north of the Caroni–Arena Dam.
