Ortaköy is a town in Çorum Province, in the Black Sea region of northern Turkey. It is the seat of Ortaköy District, which lies in the eastern part of the province, roughly 60 kilometres east of the provincial capital, Çorum. The town sits in a valley on the Çekerek River, a tributary of the Yeşilırmak, at an elevation of about 750 metres.
The area around Ortaköy is known for its Hittite archaeological heritage. The ancient Hittite city of Sapinuwa, a major religious and administrative centre of the Hittite Empire, has been identified at the site of Ortaköy, and excavations there have uncovered cuneiform tablets and monumental architecture. The town itself is a small agricultural and administrative centre serving the surrounding rural district.
