Edremit is a municipality and district located within the Balıkesir Province in Turkey. Situated just a few kilometers inland from the Gulf of Edremit, it covers a total area of 682 square kilometers (approximately 263 square miles).
As of 2022, the population of the district is recorded at 167,901. The municipality is currently led by Mayor Selman Hasan Arslan.
