Douz is a town situated in the Kebili Governorate in the southern region of Tunisia. It is commonly referred to as the "gateway to the Sahara."
The town's location is defined by its proximity to several regional hubs: it lies 31 kilometres southwest of Blidet, 125 kilometres southeast of Tozeur, and 475 kilometres south of the Tunisian capital, Tunis.
