Cyangugu is a city located in the Western Province of Rwanda. It serves as the capital of the Rusizi District.
The city is situated at the southern end of Lake Kivu. It shares a border with Bukavu, located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, though the two locations are separated by the Ruzizi River. The river frontier is crossed by two bridges and a dam.
