Kirov

Kirov is a town and the administrative center of the Kirovsky District in the Kaluga Oblast region of Russia. It is situated on the banks of the Bolva River, located approximately 160 kilometers (99 miles) southwest of Kaluga, which serves as the administrative center of the oblast.

The town has experienced fluctuating population figures over recent decades. According to census data, the population was recorded at 38,893 in 2002, 35,962 in 1989, and 29,000 in 1970. More recent counts show a population of 31,882 in 2010 and 28,097 as of the 2021 census.
