Negrilesti

Romania

Negrilești is a commune in Vrancea County, in the historical region of Romania also known as Vrancea. It is made up of a single village, also named Negrilești, which serves as its administrative centre.

The commune lies in the north-western part of Vrancea County, in the foothills of the Curvature Carpathians, an area known for its mountainous terrain and vineyards. It was formerly part of the neighbouring commune of Bârsești, from which it split off in 2003 to become a separate administrative unit.

As a small rural commune with a single constituent village, Negrilești is typical of the scattered settlements found throughout Vrancea County. Its separate communal status dates only from the early 21st century, following the 2003 reorganisation.
